Minutes of Meeting Mr. Arvind Mittal’s interesting talk on The Art of Story- Telling attracted the full attention of the audience at the Poona Club, Conference Hall on 16 November,2023. Mr. Mittal is an author, actor, director and a Story- teller. He has written and published many story books for the children, some of which he distributed to the members during the meeting. Stories may be real-life stories or imaginary stories, ghost-stories or fairy-tales—— whatever it is, we love stories. We love to listen to stories while some have specialised in the art of telling stories. The main focus of a story-teller is the audience, he must capture the attention of the audience. To be a good story teller you need to have a clear voice, good diction, correct pronunciation, ability to use right words and he should be able to express emotions through his body language. The bottom line is that a good story-teller should be a good actor too. Mr. Mittal created a lively, interactive session with the Rotarians when he made the audience recite with him a-e-i-o-u loudly. Then he involved the audience to make some stories. Some members told small, interesting stories too. The session ended with two beautiful recitations by Mr. Arvind Mittal. RCPD members are happy to have such a talented speaker who made the evening so lively and interesting for them.
