Minutes of Meeting ROTARY CLUB OF POONA DOWNTOWN Minutes of the 7th BOD Meeting Held on 17th January 2024 at Cedar Oak, Poona Club Present: Rtns Aruna Rathi, Sujata Malkani, Shailendra Abhyankar, Bageshri Gogate, PNN Iyer, Shikha Mitra, Rtn Vinod Dua, Rtn Rajendra Nahar and Sunil Holay Leave of Absence: Zimra Israel, Rtn Yezdi Batliwala, Rtn. Masarrat Tavawala Proceedings President Aruna welcomed everyone. Minutes of the BOD Meeting held on 11th December 2023 were proposed to be adopted by Rtn. Rajendra Nahar, seconded by. Rtn. Vinod Dua and thereafter unanimously adopted by the Board. The directors presented their reports. A. Treasurer’s Report • Rtn Sunil Holay reported that the balance in our Club and Trust accounts on 31th December2023 were as follows: • I. RCPD Club Account Bank of India Savings Account Balance Rs. 1,12,879.90  Flexi Account Statement awaited  Fixed Deposits Rs. 11,63,422.00 • RCPD Charitable Trust HDFC Bank Savings Account Balance Rs. 43,59,575.80 • Bank of India Account Balance Statement awaited • RCPD Charitable Trust CSR Account HDFC Bank Savings A/c Rs. 5,00,174.80 • HDFC Bank Fixed Deposit Rs.. 30,00,000.00 B. Community Service Medical – Rtn Vinod Dua laid out his plans for the next 6 months: • 300 INALI Hand fitments in February and March. • 25 Tricycle Shops to be distributed by June. • Dental Checkup Camps to cover 800 school children. • 2 more eye Checkup Camps to cover 500 children. • Nutrition packets for 200 beneficiaries – funds required 8.40 lakhs- funds confirmed 2 lakhs-Request members to come forward to fill the deficit. C. Community Service Non-Medical: Rtn. Bageshri Gogate reported: Work for Anganwadi Project is in progress. Rtn Rajesh Gupta is overseeing this project. He has identified four Anganwadis and done needs assessment. D. Public Image- Director Rtn. Sujata reported: • All projects have been reported on the District WhatsApp groups and are getting good appreciation. • Posters of Dialysis Center and Gift of Mobility have been pasted on Auto Rickshaws, which is giving good publicity to these projects. E. Youth Service- Director Rtn. Shailendra reported: • Interact Club Sundarji Stars participated in Interact Assembly and in Interact District Conference. • Interact clubs of Sunderji Stars and Pujya Kasturba Gandhi School attended the Upcycling Workshop conducted by the district team and are actively engaged in upcycling projects. • All four interact clubs are active and doing good work. • RYLA remains on the plan. F. Foundation- Director PP Rtn Yezdi Batliwala reported • The opening ceremony for the Shri Bahari Malhotra Residential and Vocational Training Home for Girls took place on 8TH January 2024 and was attended by large number of RCPD members. • APF Collection up to December 2023 - RS. 3,97,450 - $4919. • Total Giving for TRF for the year was– Rs. 35,39,450 - $42775 • Application for Global Grant “RCPD-Janseva Foundation Vocational Skilling Centre” is being completed. • Work for CSR Grant titled ‘Shri Bahri Malhotra Residential & Vocational Training Home for Girls’ is nearing completion. G. Membership and Strategic Planning- Director Rtn PP Iyer reported: He is interacting with some MNC’s in the vicinity and trying to attract to the club members in the age group of 40-50 years. He stressed on the fact that we need better attendance, involvement, and participation of members in club activities. H. PP Rtn Zimra Israel was absent and had nothing further to add. At the end of the reporting, President Aruna remarked that many of our senior members find it difficult to come for four meetings in a week. She suggested that we consider having two weekly meetings in a month as usual, and one Brunch Meeting on a Sunday to boost fellowship and bonding amongst members. All BOD members agreed to the proposal and it was decided to put this proposal to the general body. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned after a vote of thanks to the host. The next BOD meeting will be hosted by Rtn Bageshri Gogate and the date will be finalized by her soon.
