During the peak of COVID , Rtn Yezdi batliwala was approached by the concerned authorities at Mhaswad for assistance in purchasing an Ambulance for their Covid and Primary Health Centre. There being no such facility available the local rural population had to pay as much as Rs. 5000 to 6000 at times to take sick patients to and from distant hospitals. What was upseting was at times dead bodies were carried in garbage bins. The cost of the Ambulance was rs.7,33,976. The Mahaswadkar DCHC could only gather Rs. 1,85,000 of which Rs,75,000 was paid by our Honorary Member Rtn Vaibhav Pore in memory of his Late Father Shri Vitthal Baburao Pore. GS Labs who have helped our club in the past was approached and they agreed to absorb the bulk of the cost. Rtn Yezdi also approached Freemasons of The Leslie Wilson Lodge where he is amember and they agreed to donate a certain amount. The total break of funds collected is as under 1. G.S.Laboratories Pvt.Ltd Rs. 5,00,000 2. The Leslie Wilson Lodge Rs. 50,000 3. Mhaswadkar DCHC Rs.1,85.000 (This is inclusive of Rtn Vaibhav Pore's donation in memory of the late father) ========== Total Rs. 7,35,000 (This covers the full cost of the Ambulance) Mhaswad in Nam Taluka of Satara District falls in the Rotary International District 3132, Kolhapur. Our club has done some work in RID 3132 on a school project last year. The DCHC authorities have agreed to paint the names of GS Labs, Leslie Wilson Lodge and our club on the Ambulance which will also be a permanent PI for our club as long as the Ambulance is in operation.
