Installation of President and Office bearers of Interact Club at St John's School On Saturday 11thjuly ,2015 the new President and the committee members of the Interact Club of St John’s school were installed for the year 2015-201.Outgoing president SiddarthTelawde of class 10 handed over the reins of Interact to incoming president Venkatesh Shinde of class 9. In attendance were Rotary club of Poona Downtown President Supriya Banerjea, Secretary Aruna Rathi, Principal of St John’s School Mrs.Thorat, Rtn.Pallavi Sable, Ann Meena Latey, Ann Preeti Gupta, Ann Manju Mookerji, Ann Deanna Vakeel and the members of Interact Club of St John’s School of classes 7 to 9. Many good suggestions were given to the Interactors regarding the projects they could take up in the coming year. Rtn.Aruna Rathi suggested they take up a country like Australia, find out more about the country and Rotary club of Poona Downtown could connect them with an Interact club of Australia where they could share information about their countries. Ann Preeti Gupta suggested a programme called ‘EACH ONE TEACH ONE’ wherein every member has to pick a child or adult from his surrounding/family who is illiterate and make him literate. Ann Meena Latey suggested each one should get 2 ladies from his surrounding who are illiterate and want to become literate and the Rotarians of Poona Downtown will organize classes for them thrice a week at St Johns school. There was a suggestion for spoken English classes and also a suggestion of creating a compost pit to create manure for plants to create awareness in the students how waste can be utilized. Lastly were the felicitations of Rotary president Supriya Banerjea, Rtn Aruna Rathi, Rotarians and Anns present and principal of St John’s School followed by hot tea
