Under Global Grant Project of Clean Drinking Water and Sanitation, our club has completed the construction of toilet blocks in 5 more schools in Khed Shivapur area. So the total number of schools where toilet blocks were constructed is now 9. This is a rural area where many industries have already been set up. To encourage literacy, ZP has started many Primary and Secondary schools. But these schools don't have proper sanitation or drinking water facilities. So, Rotary has come forward to provide them these facilities. In all these schools proper water filters have been installed to provide clean drinking water to the students. In this Rotary year, total 8 toilet blocks were built in 8 different schools. Three of them were inaugurated in the month of September. The names of the schools are 1. Arvi ZP school 2. Shriramnagar ZP school 3. Khed ZP schoolb 4. Gaudhara ZP school 5. Shivapur ZP school Each toilet block has 2 or 3 WCs, 3 or 4 Wash Basins and in Boys' schools, there are urinals. In these 5 schools there are total 10 WCs, 3 Urinals and 18 Wash Basins. Total number of students is 452. Total beneficiaries, including the teachers and staff would be 480.
