The Interact Club of JN Petit Technical High School held its annual Installation Ceremony on 28 July 2016. The programme was presided over by the Chief Guest, Rtn Shital Shah, Director Youth Services, RI Dist 3131 and Principal of J N Petit School, Dr. Mrs Kalra. President of Rotary Club of Poona Downtown Pallavi Sable, Rtn Phiroze Masters, Director Youth Services, Ann Nandita Nabar, Interact Committee Chairman as well as Rotarians PP Yezdi Batliwala, Sujata Malkani, Shashank Jauhari, Suprakash Mukherjee and Rotary Anns Shereen Masters, Smita Jauhari, Esha Mukherjee and Kripa Contractor graced the event. The outgoing President, Master Varandeep Bhalla presented a brief report of activities of the club in the year gone by. This was followed by the formal handing over ceremony where Master Bhalla put the collar around Master Aksholay Pol, thereby installing the new President. The new Interact Board was introduced and inducted in the presence of President Pallavi Sable and Rtn Shital Shah with the promise that they would be role models for the rest of the school. They will be guided by their Interact Co-ordinator Mr Karan Parmar. Rtn Shah gave the young members an inspiring speech on the three qualities a person must possess to achieve success, viz., Vision, Passion for what you do, and Patience & Perseverance despite encountering failures. Principal Dr. Mrs Kalra in her address added another significant and often overlooked quality for success: to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. The efforts of the Interact Club were lauded by those present and the program ended with new members being encouraged to carry out their responsibilities to their nation and society as leaders of the future. During the post-installation reception, the Interactors had the opportunity to mingle with Rotarians and Anns from Poona Downtown as well as engage in meaningful discussions with Rtn Sheetal Shah. We look forward to future service-learning projects by the JN Petit Interactors.
