Rotary Club of Poona Downtown organised the installation ceremony of the new Interact committee of St. John’s School for the year 2016-17 at 11.30 a.m. The Chief Guest was Rtn Shital Shah, Director Youth Services District 3131. (2016-17) The students were well acquainted with the process of installation under the able guidance of the school coordinator Mr.Ashpak Sheikh. The Principal Mr. K S Augari was present throughout the ceremony & gave some valuable advice to the incoming interact committee. In fact, it was really heart warming to see that the last Interact committee had on theirown initiative collected Rs 3000 & had donated the money to charity. This is really in the true Rotary spirit. Rtn Shital Shah despite his finance background seemed to be an educationist & was most comfortable in the midst of the youngsters. He gave an inspirational speech on how to achieve success & excel in whatever one peruses. He guided the students to dream and setting their own target to achieve their dreams. He emphasized that once the dream and the target are defined it is only hard work which guarantees success and ultimately leading to fulfillment of one’s dreams. He also informed the children to be good citizens & not to forget their basic values in life in this progression exercise. Humility in success & graciousness in defeat are virtues most important to all human beings, which will make this a better & more tolerant generation. As usual our fellow Downtowners showed up in large numbers to encourage the children.
